Today's High Court ruling sets a dangerous precedent. It targets Muslim students, and cannot be removed from the ramping up of Prevent and recent govt extremism definition. No child should be policed for the peaceful practice of their faith. telegraph.co.uk/news/2024/04/1…
@RunnymedeTrust Could a Muslim be kind enough to show us, from the Quran, where the rules around prayer are, times, recitations etc.. so we can all be clear about precisely what it is you want. (Not from hadith though because we obviously couldn't cater to doctrinal prayer differences)
Yeah, right, that's why the proportion of Muslim students has increased from 30% to 50% in 12 years. 1. The parents/children know that it is a secular school where all religions are treated equally. If they are not happy with that, maybe they should try another school. 2. Peaceful? What planet are you on? Teachers & pupils were being bullied/attacked.
@RunnymedeTrust To call this a "dangerous precedent" is absurd. It's a common sense ruling. It targets no one, everyone is equal. If having prayers built into your school day then go to a school that accommodates this. This is the same for all religions.
@RunnymedeTrust That woman needs to sort her hair out. And she talks of discipline....?
@RunnymedeTrust This ruling targets no one. It keeps the playing field level. Stop meddling. If muslim parents want their children to pray 5 times a day, then they should consider a faith based school, just like other fundamental religious families do.
@RunnymedeTrust excellent legal result, schools are for education, not prayers or potty training
@RunnymedeTrust When people have gotten used to preferential treatment. Being treated the same as everyone else seems unfair. They’re just gonna have to like it or lump it.
No it doesn't, at least half the students at that school are muslim and abide by the rules because it is an excellent school. Muslims are not automatically exempt from rules and regulations because of there faith. You however are posting this in bad faith to antagonise people and cause ill feeling towards this woman and her school. Shame on you !
@RunnymedeTrust ‘Targets?’, remind me, who sued whom?
