We had an early World Book Day visit from the wonderful @katyabalen. Year 7 loved listening to how she wrote 'October, October' and my favourite book last year, 'The Light In Everything'. We all got to exercise our creative muscles and use our imagination freely. Thanks, Katya!

The Y9 Book Club leaders did a great job with their Murder Mystery in the Library. Everyone was suspicious of the Librarian - so I hate people bringing books back late?🤷It's all very normal, nothing to see here. Here are some of the other witnesses cracking under the pressure.

A little experiment that took ages for one corner of the library! I have organised all the lower school fiction into genres and will do the upper school next year. Our pupils seem to be finding it easier to locate books. Photos here showing the stages. #librarians

I was looking forward to seeing the shortlist so that my book group can get going on the Carnegie shadowing scheme. I haven't read it yet, but Ruth Sepetys never disappoints.

Y7 moved around the Library today to find new books. Each table had a different genre so that they discovered great fiction they may not have noticed before. Determined Crime enthusiasts ended up borrowing Fantasy and Historical Fiction. It was a lovely hour of pure enthusiasm.

We had a really popular, creative and loud Manga workshop today with some great entries for the bookmark competition. Five minutes later there was a Physics test at the same tables. Seamless. The life of a Library on #worldbookday.
