Buddy Rich performing a mind-blowing drum solo on The Tonight Show…
@SVG__Collection it's the three piece khaki suit that seals it
@SVG__Collection @KarateGomez @bambamguitar show your son this, I know he likes the drums
@SVG__Collection Aspire towards this level of mastery Do it in something you love You need to feel this combination Effortless grace Insane skill Dedication Passion Be an artist Be ALIVE
@SVG__Collection One of the top five drummers of all time. He had his own style and countless drummers learned from his ways and techniques.
@SVG__Collection His duel with Ed Shaughnessy was so amazing. youtu.be/1QXdi25469U
@SVG__Collection When people say Neil Peart was the goat yea he was rock drummers yes … but goat overall it’s buddy rich
@SVG__Collection Are my eyes deceiving me?!?! Did he just do a drum roll . . . with ONE HAND?!?! 😳
@SVG__Collection There was only one Buddy Rich created by God! Only Buddy could turn the shell of the drum into a drum + his left hand was faster than most drummers right and left hands. Heard that he gave a drum kit to Johnny Carson who took to it quite well!
@SVG__Collection See when people put guys like Pert at the top they don’t know what that are talking about it’s guys like Rich and Krupa who were the best of the best as drummers.
@SVG__Collection That sweet bastard had forgotten more about drums than most drummers ever learn...😎
@SVG__Collection I was fortunate to watch him perform with his big band, twice, when I was in high school. Legend.
@SVG__Collection Everyone has their favorite drummer and Buddy's always been mine. Got his autograph when I was a kid. He had a reputation for being a little ornery, but he was always supercool to children, and there is no better judge of a man's character than that.
@SVG__Collection My dad played on his band! So many great stories lol
Couldn't remember the exact lines so I asked @grok "Jerry Seinfeld, along with co-creator Larry David, incorporated several lines from the infamous Buddy Rich bus tapes into episodes of "Seinfeld." Here are some of the notable lines: 1. **From "The Opposite"** - "If I have to tell you again, we’re gonna take it outside and I’m gonna show you what it’s like!" This line was used when George Costanza has a confrontation at the movie theater. The original rant from Buddy Rich was about the band's performance not meeting his expectations. 2. **From "The Understudy"** - "This guy, he's not my kinda guy." This line reflects Rich's comments on a band member's performance, where he expressed his dissatisfaction with the musician's approach or attitude. 3. **From "The Butter Shave"** - "Then let's see how he does, up there, without all the assistance." This was used when Jerry talks about Newman, humorously suggesting that without all the external help or advantages, Newman might not fare well. These lines, drawn from Buddy Rich's notorious temper tantrums captured on tape, became part of the show's dialogue, showcasing how Seinfeld and David found humor in real-life outbursts. These moments from the show have been discussed by fans and on Reddit, where users appreciate the comedic use of such direct quotes from Rich's rants."
@SVG__Collection In a 3 piece suit! Long live Buddy! Thanks for sharing! 🥁
@SVG__Collection He was a perfectionist and it shows.
@SVG__Collection I thought John Bonham was great. Wow
@SVG__Collection I am a 70’s teenager and every chance I got I’d watch Buddy Rich on the Tonight Show & Merv Griffin..he was amazing & I’m so glad that his great display of drums are being saved through apps like this ❤️❤️❤️❤️
@SVG__Collection A childhood memory :Buddy Rich vs Animal Drum Battle ! youtu.be/VJh9W3Gcpmo?fe…
@SVG__Collection Absolutely Amazing! I saw him live in Boston twice! Once with John Williams and the Boston Pops!
@SVG__Collection While wearing a three piece suite w waist coat. Damn
@SVG__Collection @ScottDorn628511 This is insane! I can’t tell what’s more awesome: the sick drumming or that sweet suit.
@SVG__Collection the goat; no one even come close
@SVG__Collection Truly the greatest. No rock drummer comes close to Buddy Rich. No one. And no one does telling off the band members like Mr Rich 😉
@SVG__Collection I played with him for 6 months on the road back in the 1970s. I still have tremendous respect for him. Phil Wilson recommended me. Hard work, low pay, missed meals. It was glorious.
@SVG__Collection Wow!! Beating those drums like they owed him money. 💵 He was unbelievable. Remember catching him on tv way back when.
@SVG__Collection I've seen Buddy Rich perform hundreds of times and just never get used to seeing his master craftsmanship. Not just one of the greatest drummers ever (if not THE greatest) but one of the greatest non-running athletes. The athletic skill this takes is off the charts. BUDDY!
@SVG__Collection You can spend hours simply on Buddy Rich’s Tonight Show appearances. I’m slipping down that BR rabbit hole again.
@SVG__Collection like a drum kit and bruce lee in a suit. nasa should've been sending that out there on disc, too.
