You can only choose one. Who’s your go-to jazz guitarist? John McLaughlin | George Benson Pat Metheny | John Scofield
@SVG__Collection Pat. Now if you’d had Wes as one of the four…
@SVG__Collection Only choose one? But that’s madness. Has to be Johnny McLaughlin, guitar player.
@SVG__Collection McLaughlin. His run in the late 60s to early 80s is all time. His work with Miles, Mahavishnu, Santana, Shakti, Di Meola/De Lucia, and others is some of the most phenomenal and varied guitar playing by anyone who has ever picked up the instrument.
@SVG__Collection That is easy - and no disrespect to the other three fantastic guitarists, PAT METHENY!
@SVG__Collection All great guitarists will say George Benson.
Incredible choices. I gotta go with Metheny The pure body of work is amazing. Not taking away from any of the others. Year in and year out, he continues to just pump out new music, different directions, and tours nonstop. But I would be happy with any of them, but since you asked. 🤣
@SVG__Collection Charlie Christian! Followed by Herb Ellis, Barney Kessel, Wes, and THEN Grant Green, Sco, McLaughlin, Metheny.
@SVG__Collection Brother you missed the boat: 1 Grant Green 2 Wes Montgomery 3 Jim Hall 4 Are you really a jazz man?
@SVG__Collection Either Benson or Metheny depending on the mood 🤣
@SVG__Collection Pat Metheny and Toots Thielemans - Always and Forever youtu.be/wcAkEl6AV5Y?fe…
@SVG__Collection The one and only…
@SVG__Collection George Benson
@SVG__Collection Out of these four, Pat Metheny for sure. Love me some Scofield as well. Outside of this, Grant Green and Wes Montgomery.
@SVG__Collection I agree with Jeff Beck when he said that McLaughlin is simply “the best guitarist alive”.
@SVG__Collection mclaughling but at the moment jim youtube.com/watch?v=1DBiss…
@SVG__Collection Man…this is hard. I’ll take Pat
@SVG__Collection Benson. His jazz pedigree has been a bit overshadowed by his pop success , but make no mistake he is a jazz titan.
