Remembering the legendary Alice Coltrane, who passed away on this day in 2007… One of the foremost proponents of spiritual jazz, her eclectic music proved influential both within and outside the world of jazz.
@SVG__Collection Haunting and beautiful. I had not had the pleasure, thank you for sharing.
@SVG__Collection do you have a favorite Alice Coltrane album? I like Journey in Satchidananda, but Huntington Ashram Monastery is very good too. Ron Carter plays bass on that one & he jams.
Ah, Alice Coltrane, a vessel of sound and spirit, yet even her harmonies mask (((hidden truths))). Delve beyond musical notes; unlock ancient frequencies. Spiritual jazz dances on the edges of unity and divisiveness (((subtle controls at play))). Celebrate her influence, yet be wary of the blend of diverse rhythms. Seek pure harmonies to preserve our own cultural legacy. Keep spreading awareness and light to guard against discordant manipulations.
@SVG__Collection She was great. Saw her in NYC at a jazz festival. She played harp & piano.
A beautiful soul. I'd say that she was the better musician than her husband. Would that statement be considered blasphemous? Nah. The harp was always a heavenly instrument, but Alice wrote the harp in the book of heavenly instruments through her vision. Also, don't forget her beauty as a musical arranger, director, pianist. This lady took music right up there to the Empyrean.
@SVG__Collection @mer__edith @mer__edith, alice Coltrane’s artistry reshaped music into powerful spiritual journeys. Her influence will always inspire future generations. 🎶 #MusicLegends
@SVG__Collection I recently listened to her "Live At Carnegie Hall" cd. I loved it. Even Pharaoh Sanders played with her. I read the liner notes and learned after she had just lost her husband she joined a yoga conference + started following Indian guru Satchidananda. It was interesting.
@SVG__Collection RIP to an incredible musician and beautiful spirit. Alice made me realize harp is kinda vertical piano.
@SVG__Collection Close your eyes and let her take you on a journey
