@SVG__Collection I bought this CD in 1997. Found it late one evening browsing in a CD shop. It was playing in the background. I was already deep into Ry Cooder and Ali Faka Toure on Talking Timbuktu. The album sleeve. The thick book. The entire tale and the music completely consumed me

@SVG__Collection Perfection indeed, my father was fortunate to had seen them perform at Carnegie hall in NY. Still talks about it today. Their documentary about their life in Cuba is really interesting too. Recently a very talented group from broadway performed their music on Tiny Desk.
