Alice Coltrane on harp feels less like a performance and more like a portal to a beautiful and mysterious world…
@SVG__Collection The ancient “Egyptians” were amongst the earliest civilizations that invented and pioneered the use of the Harp. This beautiful depiction is from Theban Tomb TT52… It’s the burial place of a high ranking official named Nakht who was a scribe and an astronomer of Amun…✊🏾𓋹
@SVG__Collection you know what I'm gonna learn how to play the harp.
@SVG__Collection I love the harp and looking to discover Black harpist.
@SVG__Collection Mesmerizing performance. I dig her.
@SVG__Collection I love harp music. To be honest, I didn't know Alice Coltrane played harp - mildly embarrassing. I only really know of Dorothy Ashby in the jazz world. This is lovely, a beautiful recording too: youtube.com/watch?v=PWI8y8…
@SVG__Collection There's an interview with Alice's daughter (Michelle, I think?) in the Chasing Trane documentary where she talks about how John bought Alice her first harp after Alice expressed interest in learning it.
@SVG__Collection A horrific atonal nightmare of a performance.
@SVG__Collection Sounds like the intro of slow by wizkid and Annais
@SVG__Collection Profound...I can see easily why John would be attracted to her. Her beauty and genius seems to be something that radiates!
@SVG__Collection Perfect! You got that right!
@SVG__Collection Still the most transcendent music I’ve ever heard.
@SVG__Collection Her Exhibit videos were Ethereal!!!
