Few guitarists make it look this easy—George Benson glides through “Breezin’” with velvet precision.
@SVG__Collection Nicest guy in the business Tremendous talent and Humble guy. Simply the best.
@SVG__Collection Worshiped him! I played that album so much when I was a kid trying to learn how to play this song. I think it finally melted before I even got close! 🤪
@SVG__Collection @FTrilliams Can you imagine making a groove this iconic?
Back in my electric bass guitar days, I was blessed to play with a gifted guitarist named James Edward 'Eddie' White. We LOVED George Benson. 'Eddie' and me were high school buddies. This was one of our favorite GB songs to play out - and also in. This one never felt like a rehearsal. It was a groove. A mood. A celebration.
@SVG__Collection This guy should be on the best guitar list too!
@SVG__Collection I cannot understand George Benson is never in the list of the 100 best guitar players in the World ! He deserves to be in it so much
@SVG__Collection Jazz ppl were critical of him for singing pop music. Miles Davis said in his special way, ignore them. If they could sing like you they'd do it too. I know I would. Miles used much more descriptive words though 🤣🤣
@SVG__Collection Had the privilege of seeing him at the Vinoy Park in St Petersburg FL around 25 years ago.
@SVG__Collection I can't play it like George, yet. I do have his guitar, though.
@SVG__Collection Glad i found your X account yesterday… i have a feeling im going to enjoy your posts! (Even if you did post the wrong Buggles video yesterday. 😉)
@SVG__Collection When I was in college in the 70’s, George Benson there. We were in the gymnasium, surrounding him, sitting on folding chairs, while he sat in a folding chair, with his guitar and microphone, and played beautiful music for us; it was memorable and I am a fan to this day!
@SVG__Collection no need for vocals when the guitar sings like that
@SVG__Collection He started age 7 on a ukulele, quickly moved to guitar age 8.
@SVG__Collection Benson is truly wonderful.
George Benson's song "Breezin'" is truly a timeless classic. Each time it plays, it feels invigorating and never loses its charm. The melody flows seamlessly, gliding effortlessly through the air like a gentle breeze on a warm summer day. It possesses a romantic and enchanting quality, drawing listeners in with its soothing, soft tones. The music is engaging, creating an atmosphere that feels light and airy, making it a perfect backdrop for moments of tranquility. "Breezin'" is indeed a masterpiece that continues to captivate with its fresh, vibrant essence.
@SVG__Collection I prefer Gabor Szabo's version youtu.be/ibhh_z6pG6c
@SVG__Collection I love the way he scats his solos whole playing them. Such a talented guy, his playing and singing are both outstanding.
@SVG__Collection Good one!! I also loved his song Give me the night. ❤️🎶🎸
@SVG__Collection I have this cassette!! My absolute favorite tune #1 😍❤️😍❤️😍
@SVG__Collection The double 'Witchcraft' live album is top notch. The thing is, was it double when it was first released in '73? I have a single cd version, and the track order is altered.
@SVG__Collection Interesting story behind The Old Grey Whistle Test.
@SVG__Collection Love George Benson ♥️
@SVG__Collection The best musicians always do. The thing is… for them, it is easy. But it took a whole lot of hours of practice to get to that point.
@SVG__Collection IMHO the greatest living guitar player
@SVG__Collection One of the best shows I’ve ever been to…….just makes you feel good.
@SVG__Collection when you write a song that perfectly encapsulates your playing style
