I don’t know but it’s not “Whiplash,” which is more about mastering and learning the art of pursuing excellence than it is about music. Probably Frank Borzage’s “I’ll Always Love You” (1946; read my linked review). Also @rocketmanmovie this year’s “Better Man” and “The Greatest Showman” by Michael Gracey. “Close Encounters of the Third Kind” is a musically themed masterpiece. “Elvis” with Austin Butler in the title role is excellent. “Green Book” is about friendship though music is the gateway. A contender is “The Lives of Others” which is more musical in its theme than its reputation. Others include Robert Redford’s “Ordinary People,” “Humoresque” starring Joan Crawford and and the Charles Grodin character arc in “Hearts and Souls.” scottholleran.com/movies/movie-r…

@SVG__Collection 「Singing in the Rain」（雨に唄えば） 「Les parapluies de Cherbourg」（シェルブールの雨傘） ミュージカルClassics。「雨に唄えば」は言わずもがな「Beautiful Girl」「Good morning」等も好きな曲。 「シェルブールの雨傘」はJazzのスタンダードナンバー「Watch What Happens」の元ネタを含む。
@SVG__Collection 「The Blues Brothers」。 Pure Classic。 音楽よし、コメディよし、アクションよし。 大御所ミュージシャンが続々登場する。 個人的にはJames Brownが境界でゴスペルぽいブルースぽい説教をして皆が踊り狂うシーンが好き。
