The definitive version. Nobody touches “Killing Me Softly” like Roberta Flack.
@SVG__Collection 💙 I’m moved and transported to the 70s by the exquisite voice and arrangement of #RobertaFlack … … and totally by surprise, I’m streaming this whole lovely album out loud 😍 #SaturdayVibes #SaturdayAfternoon #RobertaFlack youtube.com/playlist?list=…
@SVG__Collection Her recording exposed the world to a great song written about a superlative singer/songwriter, by a struggling songwriter who was initially given no credit for her song.
@SVG__Collection I was listening to a podcast episode on the day Roberta Flack passed away and it was an interview that was so sad. In the interview Ms. Flack said none of her family like her parents ever congratulated her or acknowledged her accomplishments as an award winning singer.
@SVG__Collection God rest her. Born on February 10! Same as Leontyne Price (different year and Madame Price is in her 90s!) Same as… me 😊
Fresh. Frozen. Limited.
@SVG__Collection That chick gives me goosebumps when she sings♥️♥️♥️
@SVG__Collection Gorgeous, she makes it sound so effortless. Have u listened to The Singer's Unlimited version on their 1970's Acappella II album? Extraordinary! Especially the ending! Recorded by 4 vocalists on 16 tracks at a German studio-at the time groundbreaking. Lots of microtone harmonies.
@SVG__Collection I agree but I would love to hear Kelly Clarkson try.
@SVG__Collection Yes. In terms of musicality and emotion only matched by her rendition of „I told Jesus“ on her album „First Take“.
@SVG__Collection This song by Roberta Flack , very meaningful. The first time I fell in love ❤️ It still gives me that certain feeling 💙💙👏🏽🎶
@SVG__Collection Ms. Flack. MY FAVORITE, as many in here know. The entire production on this song/album (please listen to whole album) is brilliant. The choice of the delayed back beat w/the bass drum was deliberate/Ms. Flack adding the lyrical bridge in that wasn’t in the original version.
@SVG__Collection not the same without the ad-libs by Wyclef.
She said she'd never date a bald guy.. Here's what i did next..
@SVG__Collection I actually have this on Reel to Reel 😊
@SVG__Collection Joan Armatrading Love and Affection my personal fave
@SVG__Collection Indeed a beautiful version. Lauren Hill’s version did the song justice!
@SVG__Collection Like Otis Redding “I’ve Been Loving You Too Long.
Golden Cross Resources has drills turning at their flagship project. Results are expected soon. Read our research report on Golden Cross below.
@SVG__Collection The Caribbean flavor almost gives it a hip hop vibe. There’s irony in the album being released same month as Hip Hop being born. Aug 1, 1973, 10 days before birth of Hip Hop. The song had been out since January. Ms. Flack heard this song, rearranged it, & made a masterpiece.
