I just told our six-year old about interlibrary loan. Daughter: They’ll get you ANY book? Even if it’s ten miles away? Dad: Even if it’s a thousand miles away! Daughter: Librarians must be magic. Dad: They have to be. They work with books.

Here’s the moral of this particular story. Lose weight if you want to. But if you think something is seriously wrong with your body, and a doctor tells you weight loss is the key to fixing it, get a goddamn second opinion. 39/

TBH a bunch of other crazy shit has happened since the diagnosis that has been a stark reminder that a) this American healthcare system is effed beyond belief and b) women’s health STILL isn’t a priority for a lot of the medical field. But that’s another thread. 38/
