People with FASD may struggle with generalizing information, meaning they might learn a skill in one setting but have trouble applying it in a different one. For example, someone might understand a rule at school but not recognize it applies at home too.
Emotional regulation is not just a skill—it’s a vital part of support for individuals with FASD. When caregivers, educators, and support workers focus on building emotional awareness and coping skills, they help individuals gain more control, independence, and quality of life.

For individuals and families impacted by FASD, the effects of stigma are far-reaching and deeply damaging. At the FASD Network, we are working to shift the conversation, reduce shame, and foster understanding. 💙 Let's build a community where everyone feels supported and seen.
To be FASD-informed means understanding that Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder is a brain-based disability, not a behavior problem. It’s about recognizing the needs behind the actions, using compassion over judgment, and creating environments where people with FASD can succeed
While drugs can harm a developing baby and lead to other health issues, they do not cause FASD
FASD is not just a medical or individual issue - it’s a community issue that requires community-informed solutions. When communities are educated, inclusive, and supportive, individuals with FASD have a better chance at living safe, fulfilling lives, and everyone benefits.
People with FASD often sit through meetings focused only on their challenges—but let's not forget to celebrate their incredible strengths too!
