You've been asking & here's your answer! This was the 2nd wettest July Ames has seen on record. Only to be topped by the flooding rains of 1993, when the Iowa State Center was mostly underwater. We have almost completed our entire year's worth of rainfall in just 7 months 🤯

The pollen did not shed for me until noon. And even then the bags were damp-ish for all the pollinations I had to make And the highs heat up the next 2 days with 100F+ heat index … Let’s just say I am not a fan. Hopefully tomorrow goes smooth with earlier pollen shed 🤞
Holy rain! After the latest heavy rainfall, we are now over 5" above normal for July. The South Skunk River sits at 17' this morning (action stage is 19'). On the year, we have nearly topped 30" (avg. for the entire year is 36" 😳)

BREAKING: A Flood Watch has been issued for @IowaStateU from 7 PM Thursday through 7 AM Friday for potential flooding from excessive rainfall tonight. Areas that see heavy accumulations could quickly see flooding conditions.
