The major trends in #Bitcoin's next few years seem predictable. If you've been paying attention, much of the meaningful stuff that will happen has already been set in motion and now just needs to play out 🤷♂️ Let's speedrun through the next epoch in a thread 🧵
I admit it's not exactly a positive/exciting/hopeful analysis, but that's where we all come in. Everything we can do to patiently educate people on #Bitcoin will help across all 6 of these areas. If you wait for people to come to you, someone else will get to them first. 🤷♂️
I remain optimistic about Bitcoin, but I find too many Bitcoiners assume we’ve already “won” and have no clue how much stuff we’ll have to work through still. If the price goes up for a good amount of time while all of this is happening, it’ll motivate people to build as well.
Many exchanges are, the data on this is staggering. Since 2018, 10-20% of all on-chain fees are from in-house transfers. (~$200-400M) This was part of why exchanges backed big blocks in the blocksize war: Outsourcing the problem to nodes to avoid optimizing internal processes.
