If the Chinese Communist Party agrees to the sale, TikTok will still be able to operate in the U.S.
Precisely why U.S. platforms like Facebook and Google were banned from China. Rather, the U.S. refused to abide by Chinese laws, thinking they own the world and no other nations laws matter. It's been proven that the NSA and other departments have been using these to collect data on their own citizens, let alone other nations citizens. Tiktok went in to the U.S. abiding by their laws and now that the platform threatens their own home grown equivalents, they try to shut it down. Sounds more like a bully getting all worked up because they are losing control.
@SenMarcoRubio Robbery like this should never be allowed and justified in the 21st century. It’s not the days when U.S. could force Mexico to give up large chunk of its territory or annex the Hawaii Kingdom by force.
@SenMarcoRubio This is highway banditry. Imagine if China forces Apple or Tesla to be sold to a Chinese company in order for them to be operating in China. Another sign that the US empire is rotten from the inside.
@SenMarcoRubio .@tiktok_us is not the problem. You are.
@SenMarcoRubio .@tiktok_us is not the problem. You are.
@SenMarcoRubio @committeeonccp It seems highly unlikely they will sell.
On Mar. 14, in 9 letters sent to federal agencies, Oversight Committee Chairman Comer is launching a government-wide investigation into the CCP’s ongoing efforts to target, influence, and infiltrate every sector and community in the U.S., including but not limited to America’s education, agriculture, critical infrastructure, research, energy, business, space, and technology sectors.
@SenMarcoRubio Isn’t Oracle located in Texas and owned by a Larry Ellison?
@SenMarcoRubio LOL How many times has kleptocratic US forced successful foreign companies to sell their crown jewels to US interests for a song? This is state sponsored piracy unfolding. LMFAO
