my p(doom) is we are not getting AGI fast enough, population shrinks, western culture collapses, despots multiply, new dark ages (which my be the last and final) arrive.

One of the dumbest, but also most persistent ideas is the flying car.
We have a test run of "post-scarcity" economy right now, it is the software market. A lot of stuff is free, and there are always free alternatives of non-free stuff. Guess same will be true with the "real stuff" economy.
