I read that the most dangerous aspect of COV-19 would be society’s response. And look: racism, selfish panic-buying, theft from hospitals and dismissal of the most vulnerable, as if they can’t read, aren’t present, and don’t matter. A sickness that is already in our society.

My patient punched the charge nurse in the face. While my patient got hauled off to jail, the charge nurse went right back to work with his bloody nose like it was just part of the job. Let that sink in. This is not okay. The pendulum in medicine has swung too far.

I still remember turning up for the ward round one day and one of our patients demanded that they only saw a white doctor...of the six doctors working that day none of us were white so the consultant just said it’s us or no one.

Imagine boarding a plane and being told that the pilot has been working for the last 24 hours, hasn’t had a wink of sleep, hasn’t eaten since yesterday, and this is the 3rd time they’ve done that this week. Why is okay for your doctor to do that? 🤔🤷🏻‍♂️🤔🤷🏻‍♂️🤔🤷🏻‍♂️

Some woman flipped me off and honked in the Wendy’s drive thru because I was apparently taking too long to order. So I paid for her food. When I got to the second window to get my food, I showed them both receipts & took her food too. I paid for it. It’s mine!! 🖕🏻biotch
