I am so tired of forgetting to await promises in #TypeScript! Happens so rarely yet it does happen. Seems like it should be the other way around: promises being awaited by default (what you want most of the time) + a keyword to run promises in the background.

Anyone else trying to switch away from #TypeScript but keep coming back to it because of its ecosystem and sheer developer productivity while it provides at least some minimum type safety?

#AdventOfCode Day 6 in #fsharp! There you go, I survived another day. Today I knew Part 2 would try to sneak on me with ranges of data that are impossible to compute so I dusted off my high school maths and pulled off an O(1) solution.

Being self-employed made me feel really self-conscious about spending too much time on #AdventOfCode. I think I am going to take it slower, maybe solve 1-2 challenges a week instead of one everyday. How do you balance coding for work and coding for fun?

#AdventOfCode #fsharp I seriously could not believe how difficult Day 1 Part 2 was. Part 1 felt normal for a Day 1 but then Part 2 felt so ugly and deceiving. The fact that they don't make clear "eighthree" should parse as "83" and not "8hree" and so on.
