#WorkingMemory is important because it provides a mental workspace in which we can hold info whilst mentally engaged in other activities.
There is a personal limit to #WorkingMemory, thus, the individual capacity may be greater or lesser than that of others.
Once information is gone, it is for good. The only way forward is to start again the process of entering information into #WorkingMemory.
Some of the situations that often lead to the loss of information from #WorkingMemory are distraction or engaging a demanding task.
Unfortunately, #WorkingMemory is limited in a number of ways, and can easily fail us when we need it.
Other examples from everyday #WorkingMemory activities are remembering a new phone number or following spoken directions.
A good example of an activity that uses #WorkingMemory is mental arithmetic.
The term #WorkingMemory is used to describe the ability to hold in mind and mentally manipulate information over short periods of time.
To keep it simple: #ExecutiveFunction is high level thinking.
Nearly everything we do calls on areas of #ExecutiveFunction
#ExecutiveFunction encompasses so many essential areas of daily living.
In practice, "executive function" is a slippery concept. Sometimes it looks like responsibility. Sometimes it looks like self-discipline.
Executive function is a broad term that refers to the cognitive processes that help us regulate, control and manage our thoughts and actions
