Welcome to the BC Legislature, where we’re debating climate like it’s 1999. ☔️
Going all-in on fossil fuels is a terrible economic strategy. Demand is predicted to peak in less than a decade. Let’s invest in local clean energy for stable jobs, stable energy security and a stable future for all British Columbians.
@SoniaFurstenau go peddle your fear mongering somewhere else
Dear Ms Furstenau If you were to allocate the $1 billion annual carbon taxation that is collected by the government of British Columbia more effectively, such as investing it in forestry management and wildfire prevention and reduction, it could potentially lead to a significant reduction of up to 5% in global CO2 emissions. It is worth noting that British Columbia is a major contributor to wildfires, with a majority of them being caused by arsonists. These wildfires alone can account for up to 10% of global CO2 emissions. Therefore, if there was a greater emphasis on protecting and managing our Boreal forests and ecosystem, it would demonstrate foresight and a genuine concern for reducing global emissions. Ms Furstenau Now, let’s set you a challenge and see if you can answer these questions; When the IPCC can’t answer these basic questions don’t we have a fundamental problem? 1. What will happen if we exceed 450ppm and when? 2. When would the climate trajectory change if all humans ceased to exist today, decades or centuries or a millennia? 3. When it did eventually change, what would that change look like?
@SoniaFurstenau Climate change due to fossil fuels is a scam. Earth is still warming up from an ice age naturally. Let's get unwoke scientists working on the real problem and not woke scientists who built the Titan sub.
@SoniaFurstenau You would get my vote if you announce meters on the pipelines through BC from Alberta.
@SoniaFurstenau I will debate YOU on climate!!!! Please let's do it. If you don't understand the science yourself find an expert that I can debate.
@SoniaFurstenau Please push the government to legalize nuclear energy in BC. This is an obviously good move for anyone concerned about climate change, the environment more generally, or human progress.
@SoniaFurstenau @SethDKlein Surprise surprise, fear mongering is failing. Try telling us the truth, carbon is good for the Earth and doesn’t cause global warming. Now, if you want to discuss the real cost of alternative energy, pollution and soil degradation I’m all in.
