@SophiaKianni Thanks to modern agriculture made possible by fossil fuel powered machines that allow us to make more food with a small fraction of the required land.
@SophiaKianni #Poland' forest cover is estimated 35% and increasing fast 🌲🌳
@SophiaKianni Finding & using oil & gas saved the forests and the whales. Whales were nearly going extinct & forests were being burned to provide heat & light. Thank you Oil & Gas!
@SophiaKianni Yes, over the millennia they burned the forests for heating & cooking, then went to the peat bogs for cooking & heating.. research will set one free!🧐🙄🍻😆
@SophiaKianni *excludes trees in agriculture… interesting! Another semi-success story @9reenpalms @Race2Extinct @intothefray4her
@SophiaKianni Thanks to fossil fuels. They supply the heating fuels and instead of people burning firewood, they now use FFs. Very clear from the graph. From 1830s upwards, the two regions have seen the forests regrow. Plus fertilizers and machines. More yields, less land area. 1+1
@SophiaKianni Yep, rich countries grow their forests back. Let’s think: how can we save the forests in the 3rd world? By denying them access to fossil fuels thereby condemning them to perpetual poverty?
