When you next hear people talk of an increase in ‘hate crimes’ against trans people - remember an NHS Scotland Doctor wanted to report a female nurse not wanting to undress in front of a man as a hate crime
When it comes to these so-called "hate crimes" a crime must be committed first. It then has to be determined and proved that "hate" was a motivating factor in the process of that crime. So it is crime first, "hate" second. If "hate" is proven the sentence for the crime can be increased for the "hate" element. The human emotion of "hate" is not in itself a crime, although many misunderstand this and assume, wrongly, that it is.

@Sorelle_Arduino I suspect many of these 'hate crimes' are horrible actions such as eye rolls by passers-by, being correctly sexed or named, and speaking biology in their presence.
