At this point in my career I understand that a feature that only takes a few hours to build can create hundreds of hours of support and maintenance in the future. Just because it’s easy to build does not mean you should add it to your product.

It also reminds me of being careful what you wish for. So many entrepreneurs look in awe and envy at the likes of Musk and Zuckerberg. Would you actually want their life and worries right now? I sure as shit wouldn’t.

If your technology is better but potential customers are too set in their ways to switch, use it yourself and compete with them.

People often ask “How do you convince customers to XYZ?” Answer: I never try to convince anyone to do anything. There are plenty of people who *want* to do something, *want* to try something, are *ready* for a change. Sell to those customers.
