Now @s_guilbeault says that he is working to make planned secret policy direction to the CRTC public. Remarkable that a government that has emphasized transparency is trying to fast-track C-10 while essentially admitting that it hasn’t even disclosed the full plan to the public.

I think you may be confused. It is automated contact tracing. It is not a quarantine enforcing tool. It only tells you of contact you have had with someone who has tested positive when they enter their test code in the app.

They put in their positive test result, then the app alerts you that you have been in contact with them in the past 14 days. It is not designed to prevent you from coming into contact with an infected person. It is automated contact tracing to limit further spread.

@mgeist Explain this to me: the app tells me when I am less than 2 mts for more than 15 mins from someone who has tested +. But it depends on that person to put the info in the app. Why would someone, who should be home, put the in the info if they are not going to be home? #wontWork

The underlying architecture was developed by Apple and Google not the GC, and no information is store on the GC servers, only on your phone. Perhaps you should research it more before spreading misinformation.
