silksong is making me realize how carried i was by shade dash in hollow knight, i miss her so much

@SpectralAurora_ shade dash was such a crutch that even after not playing hollow knight for a year or two I still try to dash through enemies in skong 😭

@SpectralAurora_ I miss it but im happy its gone. it trivialized so many boss attacks. this game just has a better approach to game design. upgrades are more unique and versatile. and especially the charm system overhaul is so fun. I just wish you had more insentive to use the other crests

@SpectralAurora_ When I first beat the hollow knight I didn’t have shade dash or any nail upgrades so I beat him entirely by pogoing. I didn’t know those things were in the game

@SpectralAurora_ I'm lucky because I pretty much always used the Dodge as if I didn't have shade dash because you don't get it until pretty far into the game Thank God I'm a dodgecel 🙏

@SpectralAurora_ My hot take, hornet should play differently than the knight. As much as i miss shade dash, i like that hornet doesn’t have it.

@SpectralAurora_ The past month I've been playing Nine Sols, which encourages you to dash through enemies. Been struggling with every enemy bc that's still my instinct
