The first significant statewide storm of the wet season is expected to impact California Sunday night through Monday with widespread rain and mountain snow all the way down to SoCal. This will be SoCal's first widespread significant rainfall since early April. #CAwx #CAfire

#PerkinFire: 2 copters now working the fire. VCSO evacuating homeless from the river bottom. Also a 2nd fire near the 33 and the 101 (I won't be covering that one as I can't hear that radio channel from the other side of the county)

#CornellFire (#SantaPaula, Ventura Co) - AA12 reporting fire was just mapped @ 173.5 acres by the Intel 24 aircraft. Much less smoke visible now - looks like good progress being made.

#CornellFire: Priority is life safety and structure protection. Objective is to keep the fire north of South Mountain Road, south of the 126, east of the 118 and west of the 12th Street bridge. 25+ acres with potential for 100+.

Windy day for the Ventura to Santa Paula corridor. Wind gusts ~1pm are comparable to or a little stronger than the previous wind event in this area. One station ~1100 ft altitude near Ventura is reading 73 MPH gusts. Gusts near the #CornellFire in Santa Paula 30-40 MPH

Extremely critical fire danger (purple) for inland Ventura County and into Santa Clarita for Thursday, 12/03. Some wind gusts as of 11:15pm shown; a 58 MPH wind gust recorded on the east end of Simi within the last hour. Conditions are expected to continue/worsen through morning
