Aristotle vindicates Anaxagoras's insight re. the unity of Life and Thinking in Λ, where he identifies God's activity both with the best kind of life (ζωή ἀριστή) and the Thinking that is Thinking of Thinking.

Why was Anaxagoras, for Aristotle, a sober man among babblers? Because he inferred the presence (ἐνεῖναι) of νοῦς in the world from its presence in living things (καθάπερ ἐν τοῖς ζῴοις, καὶ ἐν τῇ φύσει). Life's unity, purpose, and goodness reveal Mind at work.

Plato and Aristotle seem to conceive of math and biology as privileged disciplines leading to intelligibilia and self-knowledge. As math reveals Mind's presence in the world (its language), so biology reveals its purposiveness and nature as kind of life.

He applies the phrase form of forms (εἶδος εἴδων) to bodies, implying that higher bodies/substances stand in a "mind-like" relation to their inferiors. Alexander does a great job making explicit Aristotle's identity of form, perfection, and complex-unity.
