After the walk is completed, we will be announcing who won the biggest donor award.
Activities will be held from 12:00p.m. until 2:00p.m., and the walk itself will be held from 2:00p.m. to 4:00p.m.

73,000 non-traumatic lower-limb amputations were preformed in adults aged 20 years or older with diagnosed diabetes.

71% of adults older than 18 years old, had a blood pressure greater than or equal to 140/90 millimeters of mercury.
About 282,000 er visits for adults aged 18 years or older had hypoglycemia.

8.1 million cases each year are undiagnosed, and 21.0 million cases are diagnosed.
Type 1 diabetes usually occurs in childhood and adolescence. Type 2 normally occurs in people who are 45 years of age or older.
30 minutes of moderate - intensity physical activity, and a healthy diet can greatly reduce the risk of developing type 2 Diabetes.
Insufficient access to health services, can lead to things such as blindness, amputation, and kidney failure.
80% of diabetes are now occurring in low to middle income countries.
In 2005, nearly 1.1 million people died from Diabetes. Most of those cases are recorded as heart disease or kidney failure.
Type 2 Diabetes is much more common than type 1, and accounts for about 90% of diabetes worldwide.
Women with gestational diabetes are at an increased risk of complications during pregnancy and at delivery.
The 3rd type is characterized by hyperglycaemia, or raised blood sugar, with values above normal but below those diagnostic of diabetes.
