The stunning places you're looking at are now protected – for good. We’ve just acquired 140 islands or parts of islands, to protect as part of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park. Now we can preserve them for future generations, and for the unique species that call them home.
The Great Barrier Reef means so much – not just to Queenslanders, but to the whole world. Critical habitat will now be preserved. We’re also taking strong action to reduce our emissions by locking in a 75% reduction by 2035.
@StevenJMiles Explain ‘acquired’ - just took ownership, bought, how much? Explain ‘protect’ - intention to give to indigenous groups to profit from?
@StevenJMiles “Acquired” Was this by purchase? Are you intending to assign ownership/rights to indigenous’First Nations’ people under your Path to Treaty Act or similar instrument?
@StevenJMiles @vanbadham Good - and please stop approving new fossil fuel projects.
@StevenJMiles ‘Have acquired’ From who? Did we buy our own islands? You will need to elaborate on this somewhat.
@StevenJMiles You’re awful Steven. The earth is The Lords and the fullness there of.
@StevenJMiles Is it us Ralph, or just another bunch of abbo bureaucrats wanting to tax us?
@StevenJMiles You can’t. The water is heating. Stop the QLD coal and gas expansion. Now.
