Yotsuba is classic! I read it in English when I was younger, and I have more recently been reading the original Japanese~ It’s such a nice read.

Not bothered at all. Language is defined by those who use it, and it is always changing. If the majority of native speakers use a structure consistently and with no loss of meaning, why should that not become the new standard? 🤷🏽‍♀️

I often joke about how my degree in East Asian studies is “useless” because it isn’t really something with a really obvious path, and I don’t work in the field. However, it was useful in giving me skills and knowledge that I needed to get me where I am now, so 🤷🏽‍♀️

I just had SUCH a fun voice chat with an L1 Arabic speaker also learning Mandarin Chinese, and the vibes were ~immaculate~ like… chatting with natives is cool and all, but it just hits different when you are vibing with a fellow learner hype as hell about the language❤️ #langtwt
