There isn’t a more inexpensive & accessible tool for screening than the stethoscope in respiratory medicine. Will disease need confirmatory tests? Of course. Will technology create “better ears” than doctors’? Most certainly! But acoustics play an important role, human or machine1/2

Consul gen of Afghanistan, Zakia Wardak, intercepted at Mumbai airport with 25 kg of gold that she was allegedly trying to smuggle from Dubai.
This is perhaps the first case in recent times where a senior diplomat has been caught in a smuggling case.
Big break by @Mateen_Hafeez

Patanjali's tiny apology printed in an obscure corner came after 2 yrs of repeated, deliberate flouting of law
Apology only for contempt of court, can it be substitute for action against company?
Here is a time line of events👇 as case comes up today

@SumitraDebRoy@Mundra08@amitsurg@CentralMard@FordaIndia@MalathyIyerTOI@RemaNagarajan Excellent article - glad that someone brought this out!
My two cents..
the actual question to ask is not whether stethoscope will be extinct or not but...rather
***Why it should NOT be let to go extinct?**'

Stetho will never loose importance. Its connect between 2 human beings: doctor&patient. AI gadgets are akin to sex toys- they can aid but cant replace genitals! I tell my pts about 3 diseases. HIV-easy to manage, HIV Phobia-difficult to manage; Google disease-impossible to manage
As much as we doctors love to believe that the human healing role matters, bots have been shown to outperform humans w.r.t. empathy. With clinical skills waning,I’m not confident about doctors being needed, but as of today, the stethoscope/sound definitely isn’t redundant! 2/2
In a survey of 9,000+ persons with insurance policies, 43% face problems with health insurance claims!!!!
What is IRDAI doing about it?
Is IRDAI meant to protect interest of patients/consumers or is it to protect the interest of insurance companies?

Growing up in the 90s, Agarkar was the guy I dreaded.
In any 250 chase, if Srinath or Kumble had bowled us back into the game, along would come Ajit the loin in the 42nd over for his third spell, spraying it on both sides of the wicket. Cricinfo would just type FOUR one after…
Whenever there is "are you going back to India" conversation in our friend circle, 100% of the women are 100% convinced that they never want to go back.
Europe spoils you with safety and freedom - which is super valuable for women coming from conservative communities.
@SumitraDebRoy Soil degradation is also happening at an alarming pace worldwide. it takes more than 500 years to make 1 inch of topsoil. 90% of world's agri soils would be degraded by 2050 according to UNCCD.
Let's #SaveSoil also for our survival

Heart is all warm! ♥️
I went out to vote with my baby. Holding the 5 month old, standing in the sun in a long line was no problemo. But humanity just won a little - a party worker and all the people ahead of me (more than 20-25 people) asked me to jump the line..🥺
Finally succeeded in knocking off 6 kgs in 4 months. The credit goes largely to this 6 inch diameter ceramic dish that I had bought for ₹200 from a street side vendor in Jaipur.
Had paid for a gym membership last year. Wasted the money.
Had made big plans to walk 15k steps…
Women are choosing to stay single and childfree not bec they hate men or western influence, but they are registering the exhaustion of women around them - colleagues, friends, relatives - and choosing not to raise a husband alongside a baby and do disproportionate labour
