In Purpose-Built Student Accommodation (PBSA), this effectively gets rid of the 2% annual increase limit, because students are always ‘willingly leaving’. Join the @CatuIreland protest on July 5th!

The student accommodation market is close to 90% private and grossly unaffordable for most people. This will have a disproportionate impact on already vulnerable students, with huge effects on mental health, student experience and education.

According to @Trinity_News, @tcddublin students in the University of Columbia have been sanctioned following pro-Palestine protests. I wrote to the Provost of Trinity College and the VP for Global Engagement to support students and reach out to @Columbia.

TRINITY STUDENTS SPRAY PAINT CAMPANILE DEMANDING A RENT FREEZE. College refuses to commit to a rent freeze - we will escalate to the highest level if a commitment is not made. All @tcddublin students and researchers received a link to join - and over a hundred have already.
