I am in the historic Baltimore Harbor today for the annual assembly of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB). This is my last meeting as an (unpaid) consultor for their Committee on Education. During my term, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed interacting with bishops around the country who share a passion for reviving Catholic education. I am especially grateful for the leadership of chairman Bishop Tom Daly of Spokane, Washington, and of Mary Pat Donoghue, the Executive Director of the USCCB’s Education Secretariat.
