Fun fact: @Zoom allows concurrent screen shares so participants can view slides in multiple languages. No more having to say, "We'll put a link to the French slides in the chat." Setting up and executing this is one of the many services we are proud to offer event hosts.

Simul for Webex - We think it's a game changer. Interpreters can hear each other, handoffs are reasonable (we think) and relay doesn't require contortions of any kind. tealanguagesolutions.com/simultaneous-i…

Decided to see if I could figure out why the sound is often so bad on @Webex. Here are the results, most tellingly @~2:00 w/laptop mic. Hypothesis: it's the default audio filtering, which goes haywire with persistent background noise close to the mic. vimeo.com/492612535

TEA Zoom teching this week with @timbrebkk @ENM_Interpreter @AimeeKBenavides and @LauraInterprets. All these devices are recording or monitoring; all 40 speakers received mics, mic checks, and Zoom presenting tutorials before the conference. Day one success...and strong sound!

Zoom is great, but it could be even better! If enough of us tell them we need to hear our partners, and that we need to be able to use Zoom simul for people calling in or using a browser, maybe we'll get it!

Realized the next step up in mixer from @Maker_hart has balance control for each input, so interpreters doing #r1nt could have floor audio just in their left ear and monitor their partner in the right. S/o @vcmarcano who made the most of the little Mixer S selling out.
