I am fortunate that my current diabetes team are very good with language but have attended clinics for other health conditions recently that have been incredibly triggering because of the language used. I hope that *all* HCPs can learn the impact of their words #languagematters

How many layers of marcomms did this bollocks go through to get signed off? My sister ran the marathon for DUK, my whole family have supported for years but I am officially done with them. This could have been an opportunity to offer a seat at the table but you just don't care ✌️

Everyone's a troll except for precious Paula who has no awareness of the needs of diabetic children and young people or the equality act. Willfully ignoring the NHS lead for diabetes was a particularly bold move though 😅 Sidenote: I was diagnosed at 16 and I was NOT just fine

I was asked today if I was wearing my libre sensor because of doing the Zoe programme 😑 Wearing a sensor has often been a helpful way to disclose myself to members of the diabetic community. If everyone's wearing them I guess I'll have to rely on the pod 🫠
I self diagnosed my diabetes. I convinced the doctor to send me for a test, but they said it wasn't likely. Ate their words 6 hours later when I was being sent to A&E, rushed through triage and spent a week in hospital. I was also 16 at the time.
People have a lot to say about new medications but I have just had tonsillitis followed by covid followed by sinusitis and I'm convinced that without my diabetes tech and ozempic I would have been hospitalised with DKA. It is the sickest I've been whilst also maintaining OK BG
A positive covid test means I am sadly going to be missing my first TAD event 😭 Terrible timing!
