Feels like, even with Alcaraz blowing at *4-4 game in the second set, that it's inevitable that he will eventually pull away here. Djokovic might still grab a set, but the difference in raw power, athleticism, + rally tolerance between the two, when Carlos locks in, is noticeable

Don’t get me wrong, Djokovic is playing extremely well for being 38 years old. But top 5-10 players 10 to 15 years younger should win pretty much every BO5 match against him. It’s simple biology. Kudos to Djokovic for being this good at 38. Shame on every younger player bar…

I will say, Sinner is returning at a very high level, but Bublik's decision-making has been shocking. And this is the problem with Sascha..when plan A isn't working, he has the tendency to self-implode instead of problem-solve. Remarkably, just 35 minutes into this, it feels done

We all heard so much about how Bublik wasn't broken across five sets by Tommy Paul...Sinner and Alcaraz are in a different stratosphere compared to a player like Paul. Sinner breaks in the opening game of this match haha

What's most shocking about Gauff right now isn't even the terrible forehand errors...that's to be expected. What's shocking to me is how many neutral-ball BACKHAND unforced errors she's hitting. That's a massive difference now compared to the last few seasons.

Krejcikova kept firing and won the battle for the baseline in that third set, directing play and playing with enough control to get over the finish line. Townsend just was too passive in the big moments and not quite precise enough when she did try to play with aggression.

Goodness. Krejcikova is just so, so erratic out there. Moments of brilliance for sure, but she's gifted way too many terrible unforced errors to Townsend. Barbora will kick herself if she loses this, she's beating herself.

Feels like Lehecka mentally felt the match was over after winning that 2nd set + has checked out for this third set. His point construction/rally tolerance are noticeably worse than before + he seems disengaged mentally. He's not even making Mannarino work for this set physically

Did not see that first set coming from Altmaier, given all of the tennis he's played in this tournament already, and against such a physical player in De Minaur. I don't think he can sustain that level all match, but Dani is certainly a big-match player. And comfortable in NYC...

Welp, the Shapovalov resistance was fun while it lasted! Shapo fought hard, but some untimely errors and double faults just stopped him from really making Sinner sweat out there. And Denis has such negative body language, it’s almost like he’s willing himself out of the match.

Shelton will win this, but I love watching me some Adrian Mannarino. Just such a fun player to watch with how solid he is despite such flat groundstrokes and how he can completely throw off the rhythm of his opponents. Shelton looks so much less comfortable than against PCB.
