Katey Rich talks to @ShawnHatosy about getting an Emmy nom for The Pitt after a long audition drought, and what it means to be “breaking out” yet again after more than 30 years in the business. Plus: could the Avatar and Wicked sequels win Oscars? theankler.com/p/the-pitt-sha…
@TheAnkler The very sad truth is in the 30 years since I’ve been doing this I’ve only ever booked 3 roles off tape. Ava D pilot, and 2 movies I didn’t end up doing… but that was long ago. Since and during AK 0-60 plus on self-tapes and still counting actually.
@TheAnkler @ShawnHatosy If at first you don't succeed.... Chase Grit.
@TheAnkler @ShawnHatosy I recently watched Animal Kingdom for the first time and it astounded me that you were never nominated for that show. Pope was one of the most complicated characters I’ve ever seen and I’m an old woman who’s watched TV for a long time. So glad the Emmys caught up with you now
@TheAnkler @ShawnHatosy I'm close to finishing my first watch of Animal Kingdom and it's surprising to see that Shawn never got a nomination for his work. Pope is incredibly complex and really is the soul of the show thanks to Shawn. I'm glad he finally got a well-deserved nomination.
