Unlike in the U.S., where talking about sex with kids is still taboo, the Dutch consider human sexuality as perfectly normal and existing from birth, writes @BonnieJRough on.theatln.tc/0kqWiZT
@TheAtlantic @BonnieJRough Every kid on the first day of school next year
@TheAtlantic @BonnieJRough This tweet sounds like your article is about pedophilia - "sex with kids." And I almost had a heart attack thinking this was a piece advocating for pedophilia or pederasty. Please reword this tweet as that is a very dangerous with way too many predators happy to agree.
@TheAtlantic @BonnieJRough Pushing pedophilia again. You just don't know when to quit.
@TheAtlantic @BonnieJRough Very informative article.
@TheAtlantic @BonnieJRough The real problem in the US comes when they even suppress sex ed as kids are going through puberty and therefore becoming sexually aware naturally. The kids wind up getting their sex ed whether or however their parents want them to or not.
@TheAtlantic @BonnieJRough Your headline really should say, “talking to kids about sex,” not, “talking about sex with kids.” The former is good practice, the latter should remain taboo.
@TheAtlantic @BonnieJRough 😮 for a second about those ultra liberal Dutch. @MerriamWebster will probably say the phrase is perfectly alright but I’m glad you meant ‘talking with kids about sex’
@TheAtlantic @BonnieJRough As a Dutch person I can confirm that sex ed in our schools isn’t about “sex with kids”.
