THEO VON: “Do they have ADD in the Amish community?” AMISH MAN: “What is ADD? … I've never heard of ADD before.”
@TheChiefNerd I'm sure Amish children are overall healthier in general. They're eating good food and get exercise.

@TheChiefNerd People with ADD are able to pay attention to what interests them and spend hours focusing. But anything that isn’t of interest is very hard for people with ADD. Those with it are able to hyper focus however they must like the subject or task.
@TheChiefNerd They don't use vaccines, so they don't have all kinds of problems
@TheChiefNerd I'm guessing he didn't inquire about the Founder Effect ...
@TheChiefNerd “I’ve never heard of it so it must not exist” is a pretty stupid way to go through life
@TheChiefNerd Fake Amish. He's not wearing suspenders or Red Wings. I can accept that some Amish might go on camera, maybe during Rumspringa, but the rest is too much to believe.
@TheChiefNerd Hahahaha...I live in Amish country, and the replies are hilarious! If you visited an Amish farm, you would not feel the same!! It takes a lot of fortitude to ignore how they treat their animals, children and women!!!
@TheChiefNerd No screens and no vaccines in the Amish community.
@TheChiefNerd Their autism rates seem to be way below the average as well. Just sayin.
@TheChiefNerd Totally not a staged convo ..
@TheChiefNerd The Amish pay cash, and only go to the doctors when they are near death or really severe in something (injury, illness, etc)...so these are not problems they would likely address or seek assistance for. (I live near the Amish community)
@TheChiefNerd Guy who’s religious prevents him from using a computer hasn’t heard of something MAGAs: OMG that means the Amish don’t have health problems!! Literally peasant-tier analysis
@TheChiefNerd I understand his ignorance of ADD, but why has that “Amish man” agreed to be photographed and filmed? Isn’t that a contradiction to their belief system? In such circumstances, I wonder if videos like these are staged.
@TheChiefNerd Theo believing Google 🤦♀️ of course Google is going to say Amish have add b/c they don’t want ppl knowing how healthy the Amish are.
Season 3 September Update! Fight as Ultimate Luna and explore the brand-new Lounge today!
An Amish boy on TV - putting his image out there. The Amish don't allow anyone to take their p8cture because they believe it's an affront to God. Plus his shirt looks store bought. Amish women make all their clothes. Neither does he have the typical abd required Amish hair cut. I don't believe he is Amish.
@TheChiefNerd An Amish man tells you all you need to know about ADD
@TheChiefNerd They’re always outside working with their hands, getting that sun, naturally feeding themselves that dopamine. Love it.
@TheChiefNerd Theo having an Amish kid on is legend
@TheChiefNerd I have adhd, and I doubt i’d have a problem in their environment. Every time i’ve had a job that is: - outdoors - physically active - with lots of other people I’ve had no noticeable symptoms.
@TheChiefNerd I work in an Amish community. Fun fact. They all wore masks during Covid when around “Englishmen”. Just because they do not vaccinate does not mean that they ignore many of the health recommendations that make it their way.
@TheChiefNerd The guys with ADD when driving: 1. Constant fiddling with things in the car 2. Road Rage 3. Hard shifting their manual 4. Pretending to be Race Car Drivers 5. Do absolutely No Car Maintenance then when the engine seizes up, blame the car.
@TheChiefNerd This is what the GOP calls science
@TheChiefNerd That was an intelligent question about if ADHD affects your ability to drive.
@TheChiefNerd Kid sounds retarded but no doubt he would outwork any of us if we had to live on the land*
@TheChiefNerd The rule w/ TV writing is it's fine to make Amish jokes b/c they're guaranteed not to hear the joke and get offended. There's a lot of info about the world that doesn't breach their self-imposed quarantine.

@TheChiefNerd We dont have ADD in the non Amish community. Yet another smoke screen for other real factors that tie back to things nobody wants to talk about why we got all these labels. ‘What is that?’ is exactly right.♥️
That is not ADD. People diagnosed with ADD, their mind tends to wander, jumping from one thought to another. They may lose track of conversations, misplace everyday items (keys, phone, glasses), or forget appointments and deadlines. Even simple instructions can feel overwhelming, especially if they involve multiple steps. Despite struggling with organization and focus, they’re often bright, creative, and insightful, coming up with ideas others might not think of.
@TheChiefNerd Mount everest was discovered in 1852 but I suspect it's been there the whole time. Regardless if it was "discovered" or not.
@TheChiefNerd When I was a kid they said that TV would ruin our attention span.
@TheChiefNerd Amish community was right all along 🫵
My hubs is who knows how many generations Ukraine area Mennonite heritage. He had ADHD. His father has it. His grandfather almost certainly had it. And so on. I think of ADHD as two "camps" - genetic ADHD and brain damaged ADHD. Certain kinds of drugs in the womb or exposed after (like vaccines) damage the brain making bad executive function, etc, a normal side effect. However certain people who seem to come from a lineage of ADHD probably have a genetic mutation that limits their neurochemical uptake. Either it doesn't allow their neurons to release enough chemicals, or it interferes with the uptake of those chemicals after they cross the synaptic gap. In fact there are probably multiple genetic mutations that affect it differently but have the same symptoms. These people are helped by a certain kind of drugs that either boost dopamine production or force receptors to stay open longer, like amphetamines. We know it's a genetic component because when these people use the drugs, their brain function for memory, executive function, etc, is restored to the "normal" level most people enjoy without realizing it. It's a true disability. The brain damaged ADHD ones are often not easily treated with these drugs because their brain chemistry has been messed up in other ways. So there will never be a "cure" for ADHD .... But hopefully we can cut down on the number of people getting brain damaged.
@TheChiefNerd I like his description of ADHD. It's not just struggling to focus; it's an aversion to concentrating. It's almost like a different kind of pain.
@TheChiefNerd ADD is a thing that people make up when they drink too much soda pop 🥤
