This is an important report from @NCISH_UK. #StudentSuicide numbers are not dropping. We need @jacqui_Smith to make this research a process, not a snapshot, repeating it at least every two years to track #HEP plans into action to prevent future suicides among #HE students.

Thanks to @philippirie's persistence, NHS guidance to health professionals on assessing suicide risk has changed. Risk assessment tools such as tick-box questionnaires don't work, but persist. Focus on the individual: not on flawed assessment of risk. ft.com/content/eeb12c…

Great to keep the conversation going with government on #StatutoryDutyofCare in #HE but disappointing that the Minister tasked with suicide prevention does not see it as part of his remit. We desperately need more joined-up government @SKinnock and @Jacqui_Smith1.
