Commentators repeatedly said how unlucky Verbruggen was after making a "magnificent" save but conceding the goal. For me, the save was a feeble one handed flap of Sanchez-like quality. The ball was close to him, and he was weak.

In my considered and thoughtful opinion, that was dog shit. Albion were lousy after going behind. Not that Wolves were any good either, but Albion continue to play to the level of whatever opposition is put in front of them.

To be clear: I like Van Hecke as a player (although I don't think he's as good as a lot of people think). But I dislike his theatrics whenever fouled. It's poor from any player, but for a centre half, it's especially cringe worthy.

Well, the Ryder Cup is retained, but the last two hours have been hideous to watch. The US players have barely missed while Europe have looked flat. To win four sessions out of five and barely get over the line is mindboggling.
