In October 2024, journalists from some of the world’s largest and most influential news organizations—@WSJ, @nytimes, @BBC, & others—piled into armored vehicles & Jeeps. The Israeli military was about to take them for a ride: a guided tour of occupied southern Lebanese villages.

“If Russia staged a similar embed, it’s unlikely that Western journalists would agree to embed under such conditions, with Russian troops in Ukrainian territory,” pointed out journalism professor Mohamad Bazzi (@BazziNYU).
