I see that many vocal AI experts here have a knee jerk and disparaging reaction to any questions or discussion about the impact and risks of recent AI advances. This mindset is just as bad as the doomsday mindset that they are trying to counter.

Why has there been such little innovation in air travel over the last ~25 years - it is not significantly cheaper, faster, safer, or more comfortable than it used to be. All the technology advances over this time, and just e-tickets and mobile boarding passes to show for?

This is such a telling chart. 5 states in US rank in the top 10 among all countries worldwide with the worst incidence of COVID right now! Keep on ignoring science and common sense with a twisted notion of freedom, and keep climbing such leaderboards.
