At least a dozen doctors new that Andreas Lubitz the (Germanwings pilot who deliberately crashed his aircraft) was too mentally ill to fly but it would appear that patient confidentially in Germany is more important than the lives of innocent men women and children.

Beware firms offering free or cheap Wills It’s not likely to be a successful business model is it? They just want to sell you other services that you don’t need, trusts, life Insurance, equity release schemes, pre-paid funerals, Executorship, the list goes on.

I had twelve years working for Reuters and loved most of it. I cannot understand how such a great British company was taken over by a lesser american outfit named Thomson. Why does our government allow this ?

A Herts couple have been disqualified from directorship for taking assets from their insolvent wealth management company Kevin & Cheryl Neal transferred £55,000 and 2 cars worth £22,000 from their company to associated parties in 2014 just before it was liquidated owing over £9M

Beware legal firms offering free wills. Lets face it , it can't work business-wise unless they are using the will as a loss leader. Which is precisely what they are doing. They will try to sell executor-ship, trusts, pre-paid funerals etc. off the back of a free or cheap Will.

From the 16th century onwards there was total testamentary freedom in England. Anybody could do what they liked with their estate A rich person could leave his family destitute if they wished. These 400 years of testamentary freedom came to an end with the inheritance Act of 1938

The UK most commonwealth & most states of the US are 'common law' jurisdictions most countries in Continental Europe are 'civil law' jurisdictions & most Islamic nations are 'sharia law' jurisdictions. Hence if you have assets in many jurisdictions best to make a will for each.

CGT shocker: From April 2020, a payment on account of capital gains tax on the disposal of a residential property will need to be made within 30 days of completion, instead of up to 22 months, as now.
