I can't take another 4 years of policy papers, op-eds and panel discussions about European strategic autonomy. I'm begging European governments to just buy tanks. Add assembly lines, build factories, order ammunition. Get more drones, fly more planes. Make sure ships can sail.

Mark my words based on real world experience from 25+ years. Russia has never had a genuine intention to negotiate a peace deal in the first phase of the war on Ukraine. Its modus operandi against Ukraine between 2014-2022 was attack-negotiate-cease fire-attack, rinse & repeat.

So by Israel’s own admission: 1) They intentionally hit a clearly-marked aid convoy on three separate occasions. 2) At the “best” case scenario they always knew that the ratio of civilians to combatants was 7:1. 3) That gunman wasn’t actually in the convoy.

Maybe they'd have some leverage if they actually got aid to Ukraine in the past 3 months, but if you abandon an ally you can't expect them to do what you want

This is completely right and it's not only true for the US, the Bundeswehr should also make sure it's ready for combat. I'm not optimistic but the suggestions here are excellent.

Das schlimmste daran ist nicht das man über unsichere Kanäle gesprochen hat. Obwohl ja das ist sehr problematisch. Sondern eher, dass das Gespräch zeigt, dass Scholz Ausreden, um Taurus nicht zu liefern, einfach Quatsch sind.

President @petrogustavo of #Colombia (🇨🇴) has formally dissolved any and all weapons purchases from #Israel (🇮🇱). This decision will be generally disastrous to the Colombian military which currently relies on Israeli-made weapons for a large portion of its current equipment.
