Ahoy! Just a friendly reminder about the EOL for Twilio Authy desktop app ending on March 19, 2024. Please check out our User Guide below for additional information. Thank you! help.twilio.com/articles/22771…
@TwilioHelp This is an excellent way to piss off thousands of developers and make sure we never touch any of your products again. A masterful gambit.
@TwilioHelp Terrible. The desktop app was your unique 'selling point' (albeit free...) and you know it, as boasted in your own blogs. By implication you seem to have to EOL the rest of Authy shortly as well. All the more sad that you can't be a bit more forthcoming regarding a reason.
@TwilioHelp The only reason why i use your product... so there is no good reason to remove the fully functional app.
@TwilioHelp Who thought this was an incredible idea? This is the main reason why I use your product so I don't use the phone every single time I want to login:)))) also, it helped me when I changed my phone to another one
@TwilioHelp Guys! This is horrible! Why are you doing this? I use the desktops apps both on Mac and Windows multiple times a day!😱
@TwilioHelp Interesting this is a "friendly reminder". This date was originally communicated to be around the Aug 2024 timeframe and suddenly today (2/13/24) it was communicated the new EOL date is 3/19/24. Is this a sign? Is it time to change to a different TOTP authenticator altogether???
@TwilioHelp This is the absolute dumbest move I've ever seen
@TwilioHelp At least August would've given us time to migrate over summer, guess we're just F'd now.
@TwilioHelp for me this ruins everything as i dont have ios or android ever
@TwilioHelp It's really a pity that you will retire Authy desktop app in March. I am using it on desktops far more often than the mobile apps.
@TwilioHelp Oh no, this is really bad news. Is there any way to motivate you to keep this software in the air?
@TwilioHelp And now you've abruptly killed support for the iOS app on MacOS, where it had been working well (enough). Why can't you let us run the app as we see fit? don't update it, fine, but don't kill it.
@TwilioHelp The URL doesn't return any info. Just as informative as this tweet...
