Castleman's disease - rare nonclonal lymphoproliferative disorders (unicentric, multicentric); s/s: fever, wt loss, anemia, organomegaly; Class: HHV8-positive, idiopathic & POEMS-associated; Dx: lymph node bx; Rx: surgery (UCD), IL-6 targetted (MCD)
Acute/Chronic Leukemia hematopoietic stem cells = - Lymphoid (T and B lympocytes) & - Myeloid (monocytes, neutrophils, basophils, eosinophils, erthyrocytes, megakaryocytes/platelets)
EKG Dx Criteria for RBBB / Three criteria: -QRS duration ≥ 120 ms -RSR' pattern in V1 or V2: The R' wave is typically taller than initial R wave -ST depression & T-wave inversion in right precordial leads (V1-V2); abnormal depolarization, appropriate discordance
Tumor lysis syndrome - overwhelmed electrolyte–uric acid homeostasis due to destruction of malignant cells and massive release of cellular contents, including purine nucleic acids; s/s: acute hyperkalemia, hypocalcemia, AKI, hyperuricemia, hyperphosphatemia; Rx: dialysis
*First-Order Kinetics (Concentration-Dependent Elimination) - MC method of drug elimination; Constant percentage or fraction of drug eliminated per unit of time. *Zero-Order Kinetics - Constant amount of drug is eliminated per unit of time; Ethanol, phenytoin, theophylline.
