One reason was non-stop stereotyping and attacks by online BJP supporters. By labelling everyone who spoke against BJP as anti national, sikular, dhimmi, liberal etc. and trolling them in groups BJP supporters have created unnecessary enemies among student and artist groups.

The #internetshutdown in Delhi gave the national capital entry into an illustrious group. Capitals that have not shut down internet despite protests: Washington, London, Paris etc Capitals that have: Delhi, Tehran, Baghdad, Khartoum etc. Illustrious company.

People who are against CAA are on road with Indian Flag. People who are in support of CAA are on road with BJP Flags. Enough to say who are the traitors. They are the same people who didn’t hoist TIRANGA in their Nagpur RSS headquarter for more than 50 yrs after independence.

The fight is for a long haul. Modi & Shah can do one of these: manage a big distraction / spend a lot of money on legacy media, social media, in campaigns / unleash the Hindu right wing militia on the protestors leading to riots, or civil war. Or,protestors could just get tired..
