Looks like iOS 13.4 has some unexpected (but maybe good) new behaviour where force-quitting the iOS app doesn’t disconnect it from your Mac. Generally I’ve always had to tell people to ensure they never remove the iOS app from the App Switcher or it will disconnect.

Unlox for iOS and macOS 3.0.4 are now both available with the fixes for Unlox taking up way more disk space than it should. Unlox for iOS 3.0.4 also improves the widget’s Dark Mode appearance and also improves Unlox for watchOS.

This fix has been approved by Apple so I will hopefully release this fix today or tomorrow, for both iOS and macOS. Also, I have *sort of* fixed the Apple Watch app in this update, but it still needs some more work.

Just updated a machine to the latest macOS and I had some troubles getting it to connect. I managed to fix it by forgetting and re-adding my iPhone, and then relaunching Unlox for macOS. Not sure why that’s needed yet, but at least it’s fixed!

Not sure why some people need to do this but it can help! Also found restarting the iPhone helps too.

Unlox 3 has been approved by Apple and is now trickling into App Stores around the world! Remember, Unlox 3 is not compatible with Unlox 2 so make sure you update both apps as soon as they’re available!. Here’s a post on everything that’s new in v3: unlox.it/blog/2019/07/3…

If you get a popup on Mojave saying Unlox needs to be updated for 64bit don’t panic. It’s just an embedded helper app that Unlox uses to relaunch itself that is 32bit which is why you’re getting the popup. The rest of the app works fine on Catalina!

Trying out the iPadOS public beta, now that iPad has the app icon shortcuts like iPhone it’s even quicker to lock and unlock your Mac from anywhere.

Got a few more bits to do with version 3 and it’ll be ready to submit to the App Store finally. There’s still an issue some people are having with it not being able to connect but I’m struggling to reproduce it to try and debug the issue, but I’ll keep trying.
