Impressive showing for Rhian Swanson this week, who combined for 61 kills over 3 matches. Set another career-high tonight with 22
Purdue Gameday Notes: ⚫Ranked #17 ⚫2-1 on the season (lost to #23 Georgia Tech on 9/3) ⚫The two starting outside hitters in 2024 transferred to other programs (2nd Team All-American Eva Hudson went to Kentucky and 2nd Team All-Big Ten Chloe Chicoine went to Louisville)
FINAL: Kansas 3, Georgia Tech 1 (25-17, 25-18, 22-25, 25-14) KU gets its first ranked win of the season to move to 3-3. Tied at 12 in the fourth set, KU reeled off 13 of the next 15 points Swanson (19), Zelenovic (14), Ptacek (11) and Nelson (10) all with double-figure kills
Georgia Tech Gameday Notes: 🟡Ranked #23 🟡Defeated #17 Purdue in 4 sets yesterday 🟡4-0 record in 2025 🟡Picked to finish 6th in the Preseason ACC Volleyball Coaches Poll 🟡Made it to the NCAA Tournament each of the last 5 years
FINAL: Kansas 3, Bowling Green 1 (25-18, 25-20, 25-27, 25-14) Good response after letting three match points slip away in the third set. KU rebounded to hit .520% in the fourth set Swanson set a career high with 20 kills while hitting .421% Two more ranked opponents up next

Despite three losses, KU only drops one spot in the AVCA rankings, from 14 to 15 Last year’s Big 12 champs, Arizona State, moves up to 7 after beating Penn State Other Big 12 rankings: -BYU: 18 -Baylor: 20 -Utah: 21 -TCU: 24

While you would have liked to see KU pull off a win against one of these ranked opponents the past two weekends, there’s been some encouraging signs -Match point vs #2 Penn State -Going 5 sets vs #8 Wisconsin on the road -Forcing fifth set after 2-0 set deficit vs #12 Creighton
FINAL: Creighton 3, Kansas 2 (25-17, 25-21, 21-25, 25-27, 15-12) After an early 3-0 KU lead in the fifth set, Creighton won the next 9 points to take control of the set Jayhawks move to 1-3 on the season, with all four matches going to 5 sets
In a surprise to no one, KU heads to a fifth set KU fought off a Creighton match point at 25-24 with a huge Ptacek slide kill, followed by a KU block and Leban ace

FINAL: Wisconsin 3, Kansas 2 (25-16, 18-25, 25-18, 26-28, 15-10) All 3 games this season have gone to 5 sets. In an up and down match, Wisconsin won 5 of the last 6 points to close it out UW’s defense made the difference w/ 15 blocks + holding KU to a .156% hitting percentage
